Glory to Jesus Christ!

Welcome to St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church. We are delighted you’re here! St. Sophia’s is an Eastern Catholic Church in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex under the jurisdiction of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Chicago. We are in full and visible communion with Rome.

It is our hope that this website will help to answer your questions and will provide you with all the necessary information about our parish and our Church. Should your inquiry not be answered here, we also welcome you to call, fax, email or come and visit.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) said, “a living parish is the place of meeting with the living Christ.” We especially invite you to visit us for prayer and worship to experience for yourself the richness and beauty of our Ukrainian Byzantine Rite. As the Apostle Philip said (John 1:46), “Come and see!”

-Fr. Pavlo

Safe Environment
St. Sophia parish unites its prayers and actions to those of Bishop Benedict in denouncing the scandalous abuse of authority, of chastity, and of people that has come to light in recent weeks.

If you have been the victim of any past or present abuse by a member of the clergy of whatever rank, please report this to the civil authorities and notify the Eparchial Office for Safe Environment.

We will walk the sorrowful journey beside all who need it as we pray and fast, especially during the prescribed times of abstinence: Wednesdays and Fridays, the four fast periods of our liturgical year, and other prescribed days of abstinence.

To all who are suffering, we offer our sacrifices, our tears, our solidarity, and our sincere sorrow. We are sorry for whatever corruption, scandal, or abuse you have endured and we are committed to the process of reparation, rehabilitation, and reconciliation of this deep and systemic evil present among us.
